I don't believe the FPL have changed the formula. I am not sure Diamond Plus has factored in the gradual fall in the threshold over time.
I make the NTI threshold at the moment to be under 8000, maybe about 7700 currently.

I tried to convert to communism but they wouldn't have me! (So much for everybody beeing equal)

I shall adjust the threshold tonight. Has anyone discovered any particular formula for the threshold.? I assume it would be related to the number of teams.

I really need to have a sit down and examine the raw data but I'm still Jet lagged! :)

Righto,

I've just changed the rise threshold formula to ...
14000 - ([Team count] * 0.005).

This currently comes just under 7700 which seems more reasonble.

We'll see how it goes....

Just realised I hadn't thanked you for your quality work. :D
Saves me ages in pointless worrying whether I need to make transfers earlier to afford them.

Fairly likely, yes. The site didn't update yesterday but he was on about 6,000/7,000 needed on Tuesday night.

I think Bridge has about 1300 to go from last night, so unless there is a last minute rush he may not rise.

I'm not sure why I am even bothering with tracking price changes this week, but a possible reason for Diamond Plus's site not updating yesterday, was FPL introduced a new data column yesterday that does not display on the website. From what I can see all it does is identify the top 11 points scoring players in a 442 formation. Probably something for season end to display the "Team of the Season" or some such thing.

Good spot - var_in_dreamteam added.

What a pain - they could have at least added it at the end rather than slap bang in the middle

Oh well - have revisit my own import code now - but hopefully it won't be too much work to include it.

Gosh darn it! It means I'm gonna have to fix my code tonight!

Good spot guys!

Uh, I think the player drop thresholds have gone the way of the pear. I shall investigate tonight.

Diamond plus, you're extraordinary for doing this all season. I checked this thread and your site many times while contemplating trades it was remarkably accurate.

Thank you!

Thank you for all the praise. I have to credit all the people who did the research before me.

Assuming they read this forum they may change it just to provide themselves with some amusement at the start as we scrabble around trying to work out what they've done :D

Great job by everybody who brought us this invaluable resource - it's saved me making early transfers many times. Thank you.

Thanks from me too,to all who've contributed to this invaluable thread, and to Diamondplus for parachuting in to keep it alive when Slarty, after sterling service, decided to get himself a social life.

Hopefully,FPL won't make too many code changes next season, though should the renaming of the "Elite" result in a flood of new FPL players to Fiso, FPL might feel obliged to do something to prevent Fisoers enjoying an "unfair advantage".

However,as most Fiso FPL players belonged to the "Elite" league, of which there were less than 300 members, whose only contact with the other 1.270,000 FPL players was via the FPL Fantasy Cup, that seems unlikely.

In any case,I'm sure there are enough bright sparks within the Fiso FPL community who would rise to the challenge, for it to be almost impossible for FPL to devise a code to defeat such collective genius.

Meanwhile, let's all hope that DiamondPlus will be able to carry on his excellent work for the next, and many seasons to come !

Couple of things:

1: Should this thread be un-pinned, and a new one started for the 07/08 season? 1500 posts is far to much to wade through for anyone seeking information quickly. Also, the formula may be tweaked for next season, making the first few posts in this thread incorrect.

2: What can we do to help determine the formula? I have Excel and am normally online around the time of the price rises. Obviously we can't start analysing the data until the first price change, but we can get used to retrieving data from the site, etc. Anything I can do to help, just say!

Thanks for bringing this up, flyingkillercob, it needs addressing now. :)

Could those who were instrumental in developing the software to monitor the NTIs/NTOs last season please let us know if they intend doing the same this season and whether they will again make that information available to us all?

Once we know this we will know whether or not we need to go back to collecting data 'by hand' or not.

Thanks.

Whatever way it's done I think it will need a new thread... this one is too long.
