This is a really interesting thread. Only discovered it today but will check it every GW now.
Sorry if this is an obvious question, but if it takes about 9359 NTO for a player's value to drop (and 25% less for an injured player, right?)... then why has Tottenham's Assou-Ekotto dropped from 5.0M to 4.4M since GW17 when only a few hundred people have been taking him out each week?
In total, it looks like around 8000 people have transferred him out since he was worth 5.0M.
Anyone know the explanation for him dropping so much?
Cheers. Good luck everyone for the double gameweek!

Berthe welcome to the forum..... DiamondPlus is doing an outstanding job on the price tracking.
In a nutshell the way a player price falls depends on a number of factors.
In the case of Assou-Ekotto he is in 1% or less of the total number of teams in the fpl website league, so he is in about about 12,286 teams today. Normally I would expect his price to fall when about 10% of these 12286 managers who have him sell him, so if about 1228 managers sell him his price will fall. (Some managers are buying him at the same time, so as long as the number selling - numbers buying hits the 1228 figure his price will fall). Because the fpl site rounds the figures it displays, this is only an estimate. It could take more or less. In this case I have AE's last fall figure at around the 600 mark meaning maybe well under 1% of mangers on fpl have him.
The 9359 figure is the magic figure, that when a players transfers in - transfers out (since last price change) hits, his price will rise. For players whose price has already hit this figurea and so risen, their price will fall, when their NTO (transfers out -transfers in) is the lesser of this figure or the sum arrived at if the 10% calculation described above is used.
Thats factor 2 , other factors that affect the point for price falls/rise, is whether they are injured or not, suspended or not, just joined the player lists, or with in 7 days of any of these events. had long or short term injuries,These lead to to drops at 25% mark, price freezes for 7 days, etc. etc. etc.
Hope this makes sense. Sometime I confuse myself on this stuff.
