I think CTC is pretty easy to read.

Williamson, Stockdale and A Cole are in bold, and at 22:00, it's pretty certain they'll be rising tonight.

Drops may be a little harder, but still, the players that are in bold are pretty certain to drop too. Boselli is on course to drop again  This guy may end up at 5

Actually the players in bold on the drop list may not actually drop as the NTO targets are currently not accurate.

Shawcross for example is bold with a CTC % of 131 however the real % would be closer to 60-70% so wont be likely to drop overnight.
Givet is another example of a Bold texted player on the CTC drop list who wont drop either.

However the Rises page seems accurate :-)

Sorry peeps, been away for a few days and I'm a little confused as to the PriceChanges page on CTC.

It has a few people rising or falling a couple of times on the 21/08/2010 - e.g. Bale risesto 6.6 with 31964 NTI and then a little further up he's again risen to 6.6 with 8365 NTI.

Can anyone explain what's happenned here?

It might have something to do with D+ losing some of the data from about 18/08 to 21/08 then inputting manually? :?

It looks like all the rises/drops in the early mornings of 19/08, 20/08 and 21/08 are duplicated again on 21/08 (the bit with team count 1957671), with the NTI shown on the duplicated line being the NTI count between the actual price change and that point on Saturday (with exception of Drogba whose first two/three rise counts I can't understand)

A few people here have mentioned that the NTO figures for a price drop are not
totally accurate.
I was wondering if this was caused by the incorrect "percentage of teams owned by"
stats used by fpl? They appear to be overestimating the number of teams who own a
particular player by a factor of at least two.

A good example of this is Balotelli who was added to the game after gw1, so the
exact number of his owners can be determined.
With 2025803 players in the game:

Balotelli
Total Tranfers In 6813
Total Transfers Out 1845

Total Ownership 4968

This represents a %ownership of 0.245%
fpl reports it to be 0.6% which should mean that he is owned by about
12000 players.

This situation is repeated for the other players added after gw1, such as Ramires
and Odemwingie, and the overestimation also appears to apply to all other players
in the game (or their NTI's/NTO's at least).

I don't believe the transfer figures include ownership by new teams but only transfers in/out for existing ones. As the season progresses total transfersin always marries up with total transfers out (when all NTI/NTO are added together).

If a new squad is set up the players they include do not get added to the NTIs for those players and therefore the % ownership number will be higher than that calculated by the example you gave.

I think I remember something about this from last season.

An example of this is this:

Xisco NTI 769 %Ownership 0.1
Ramires NTI 742 %Ownership 0.2

Both were added roughly 12 hours apart but clearly more "new" teams were registered with Ramires in them than there were teams with Xisco in.

Certainly there will be numerous 'numpty squads' containing such players, some chosen by autopick or ill-judgement both before the season and, with new teams, after, but enough to screw the figures to this degree? I don't know.

So many price drops already this season of players who lots of FISO users had in their teams.
It's been the price drops with in my squad rather than price rises of targets which have dictated my transfers thus far.

It means I have kind of ended up with a bit of a makeshift team already.

Wild Card time soon just to annoy the Red Arrows who I think we play in GW4.

I felt that was a mistake of mine last year though, chasing cash and avoiding drops. Points before monies.

If you have a suitable replacement lined up, someone that is projected to outscore Bent over some relevant period of time, go for it. Otherwise, stay put, Bent is good to have around.
