Anybody put a claim in for PPI yet? Any luck getting it back? Been rejected? Or tempted? Well if you took PPI out on a loan before 2007 there's a pretty good chance you will get it back with interest!
One of the reasons they give for a potential claim is if you were bullied or pushed into taking PPI out! How they can disprove such a claim is maybe why the banks have put aside 10 Billion or thereabouts for refunds. My claim went in this morning. £5k loan over 5 years with PPI  At the time I wanted/needed the loan pretty bad and feel that PPI was pushed onto me in a way that rejecting it might of hindered the loan. That in itself is a solid enough reason. There are plenty of other reasons...I have about £1200 left on the loan but i reckon i could have £1.5k coming back

I'll be looking into bank charges next

edit: Barclays announcing this morning that ALL outstanding claims were being repaid no questions asked!!! New claims however would go through as normal. Good news!

I followed the procedure on moneysavingexpert.com a couple of years ago and put a claim in which expectedly gets rejected then you reclaim straight away mentioning the ombudsman as your next step then they don't accept responsibility but pay you.It was only about £120 and then I invested in Lloyds whose share price went down recently because of...PPI.

I deal with these at work and unless the company can show that they went through a fact-finding exercise with you and proved that you had no other way to cover this, you should get paid.

Even if they did prove you had nothing in place, they still need to show a separate signature and recommendation letter.

Standard is 8% interest per year as well.

They wrote and ASKED you to make a claim against them and as a result paid you 2.5K?

Bank of Nigeria. So far he has only paid the first cheque to release the larger funds he is due. They should be here any day now, just as soon as MarquisMark fixes their web server.....

Yep, very odd. It was a credit card rather than a loan but they wrote and said I was missold the PPI and should claim. it took them 5 months to process the claim though.

Just opened a letter upholding my claim and offering £2016. Happy days :D Next letter opened was a cheque :D

4 months from start to finish not too shabby but I was conned originally so its only whats rightly mine.
This was all after an episode of Watchdog :D Made a phone call to a Halifax PPI line, no forms or rip off 3rd parties, nothing. 4 months later bingo!

Got some small change to claim on a store card from years back now  :D

having not done anything to date re claiming for PPI, I think I may as well give it a shot.

I have no idea if I was miss sold anything at all, but I will be phoning a couple of credit card providers tomorrow night, from when I used to do interest free transfer things.

Worth a shot right? :)
