I dont usually ask for advice on fiso but little has been mentioned regarding lampard and chelsea defence. I'm also a player that likes to have 22+ transfers after christmas so the plan below makes me a little uncomfortable!

Under AVB, chelsea look less likely to keep clean sheets. The "you score, we score more" mentality etc. I was always expecting this to happen. Cole is ever-present and a key part of the forward play, hence I wanted him as a season long guy. But now i'm not so sure he represents good VFM. Bosingwa would get me the same thing for £1.1m less etc. Clichy, baines, mata would have the same effect.

Lampard is an easier dilemma. He has to play every game to warrant the £6m price tag.

So...

Downgrade cole to upgrade lampard  RVP?
or
Lampard  Suarez/silva/nani etc?

Why sell Cole?

What would you actually do with the money????

Lampard has to go and gives you scope for everything including buying someone like Silva / Adebyaor and still having £1m cash in the bank - unless you want a big striker like RVP.

I guess it all depends what you think of RVP, and whether you want the risk of Bosingwa or the lower points of a defender from a 'lesser' team.

Both could probably be brought in for Cole and FFL. Not sure about Nasri and Silva, though so Mata and vdV (or Bale if not enough cash) come into the equation. Oh and the team will look very much like one of mine.

With the new formations and 0.3m in the bank then you could do a straight swap, Cole for Adebayor.

(Off the top of my head 343 is valid but 352 isn't, so no straight swap for Silva)

Question marks over his VFM and clean sheets because of AVB's tactics.

Lampard to RVP.

This is why i posted. It's basically Suarez, Silva or RVP. With nasri and aguero in the team I dont want to over do it with silva. I'd take RVP over suarez because of penalty, freekick, corner duties. But bringing RVP in would mean 2 transfers - i dont want to bring the team down to 25 transfers already :?

I dont really consider bosingwa as a risk anymore - played all games whilst other RB options have been fit.

With the "why sell Cole" comment, I meant that to beat keeping him you need to spend the money wisely.

On its own, selling him for Bosingwa would just make you a bit richer which counts for nowt (assumes same points return - and I'd guess it would actually be lower).

So far (big caveat...) this season has shown that you need to burn transfers to get the right players in. I don't think 25 is too bad for this stage of the season.

Unless the early season form horses (Aguero, Rooney, Silva etc) slow down & some of the transferred out players find some form (Drogba, RVP, Van der vaart etc)

Could well be a season of chasing rainbows, when perhaps the smart thing to do is be patient.

There do seem to be a number of bandwagons with the potential to last: Silva\Nasri, Aguerro, Adebayor, SWP, Riise, Murphy, Young\Nani, Suarez, Rooney..................

Thanks guys. Not made my mind up yet but feel slightly better about burning 2 transfers if I decide to.

I stuck with lampard and cole in all my teams. After Lampard's midweek goal I was predicting something big from him this weekend whether he started or not - AVB was asking to be smacked in the chops. I intended to make the transfer after the international break but I might just hold onto him a little while longer 8-) Although depending on torres and chelsea's shaping around strikers, lampard might still be transfer-prone.
