Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti insists that striker Didier Drogba and goalkeeper Petr Cech will be fit for the new Premier League season.

Drogba was a surprise inclusion for the Chelsea side as they prepare for their tour of Germany, just a week after under going groin surgery.

The Ivory Coast international was believed to be out for up to three weeks following the surgery, and although he will not play against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, he could make an appearance in the midweek game against Hamburg.

Cech, who has been struggling with a calf injury, has not made the trip to Germany, but Ancelotti expects to have the keeper available for the Community Shield clash against Manchester United at Wembley.

"He [Drogba] is in good condition, he has recovered well from surgery so he will be able to play the next game [against Hamburg]," Ancelotti told Sky Sports News.

"Yeah it is very good he is doing very well.

"All our squad is improving our condition and I think we will be ready for the start of the season.

"All the players in Germany will play tomorrow maybe only 45 minutes, but against Hamburg I want to put out the line-up that will play against Manchester United.

"Petr Cech is good, I think he will be fit for the game against Manchester United.

"I think that all the players will be fit against Manchester United and only [Jose] Bosingwa needs more time to be fit."

Central midfielder Frank Lampard has also not travelled with the squad to Germany because of injury, but is due to be back in training next week, while Daniel Sturridge is missing with an ankle injury.

ANCELOTTI: CECH AND ALEX READY, LAMPARD DOUBTFUL
Frank Lampard is a doubt for our Premier League opener against West Brom on Saturday, but Petr Cech and Alex have both been passed fit to return to the side.
Both players had been absent from pre-season since our first friendly against Crystal Palace on July 17, while Lampard returned from international duty in the week with a knock on the ankle.
'Cech is ready, Alex is ready, Bosingwa is out again, he is doing an individual job, but the other players are fit,' said manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Fresh setback for Lampard
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has been ruled out for a further three weeks after suffering a new injury in training.
.....
Lampard had been expected to go straight back into Carlo Ancelotti's starting line-up against Sunderland after Michael Essien was sent off in the midweek win over Fulham.

Terry reveals injury woe
Chelsea captain John Terry has revealed he is at his 'wits' end' regarding his nerve injury and fears he could be sidelined for months.
Terry has been struggling with a nerve pain in his leg and was forced to sit out Sunday's shock 3-0 home defeat by Sunderland.
He will also miss England's friendly with France and does not expect to be involved in Chelsea's weekend Premier League game against Birmingham City.
The centre-half admits the long-standing problem has worsened in recent weeks and he plans to visit a specialist in the hope of finding a cure.

Petr Cech continued his outstanding season by saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet in Czech Republic's 0-0 draw away to Denmark. The spot-kick stop came as early as the 18th minute in what was a friendly international, as were all the games involving Chelsea players on Wednesday evening.

At Wembley, an England side devoid of any Chelsea names was distinctly second best to France. Florent Malouda was one of the most experienced players on the pitch and supplied the pass for Karim Benzema to make it 1-0 in the first half. England eventually lost 2-1 with the home side's goal coming after Malouda's influential showing had ended with a 76th minute substitution.

Jose Bosingwa played the full game as Portugal recorded a notable victory in the 'Iberian derby', beating World Cup winners Spain 4-0 in Lisbon.

Serbia beat Bulgaria 1-0 thanks to a goal 10 minutes from time from Nikola Zigic who was later sent off and is likely to face Chelsea for Birmingham this weekend. Branislav Ivanovic played the full game.

Ramires was in midfield for the Brazil side that took on Argentina in Qatar and was sunk by a late Lionel Messi goal.

Yury Zhirkov had a less enjoyable time in Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium than his visit last month with Chelsea. Russia lost 2-0 to Belgium, Romelu Lukaku scoring both goals.

Jeffrey Bruma and Patrick van Aanholt both played the full game as Netherlands Under 21s won 3-1 away in Denmark. Fabio Borini was a half-time substitute in Italy Under 21s 2-1 home win over Turkey, the score 1-0 at the break.

NEWSFLASH: ALEX AVAILABLE
The surgery required on Alex's knee will be delayed so the defender will start tomorrow versus Birmingham.
Yury Zhirkov has a tight calf muscle and is out. Florent Malouda will play midfield. A decision is yet to be made on Jose Bosingwa or Paul Ferreira at right-back.
Petr Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, Ashley Cole, John Mikel Obi, Ramires, Salomon Kalou, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka will start.
John Terry's injury problem has been identified. He will not play against Birmingham but he could be available for the game afterwards.

Mikel out until February
Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has revealed that he will be out until at least February with his knee injury.
The 23-year-old Nigeria international picked up the knock during the defeat to Arsenal in December and is set for further time on the sidelines.

John Terry will lead England out against Wales this Saturday and is one of many Blues on international duty this week.

Terry will be joined by Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole in the England squad

Petr Cech's Czech Republic travel to face Spain on Friday evening, where he may face Fernando Torres

Cech's country, who are currently second in Group I with six points from three games, will then head home to host bottom-place Liechtenstein on Tuesday 29 March.

Once they've played the Czech Republic, Spain's squad will travel to face fourth-place Lithuania for another qualifying match next Tuesday.

Serbia will be happy to have Branislav Ivanovic in their squad when Northern Ireland head to Belgrade on Friday. Serbia need to win the game if they are to raise their hopes of qualification for the Euros.

Serbia currently sit fifth in Group C, one point behind fourth-place Ireland and six behind group leaders Italy after four games. Ivanovic is also expected to play a role in his country's away game against third-place Estonia the following Tuesday.

Yury Zhirkov will travel to Armenia with the Russian squad and the left-sided player is likely to take part in Saturday's game. Russia currently top Group B comfortably, with nine points from four games, while Armenia sit in equal second, alongside Ireland and Slovakia, with seven points.

Once they've played their Euro qualifier, Russia will then travel to Qatar for a friendly match next Tuesday.

Florent Malouda is part of the France squad, who are top of Group D, which heads to Luxembourg on Friday. Their opponents are currently bottom of the group. Chelsea's number 15 will also help his nation host Croatia in a friendly next Tuesday.

Chelsea fans may still be waiting for Yossi Benayoun to return to competitive action but the captain of Israel has been named in the squad for his country when they host Latvia on Saturday and Georgia the following Tuesday in Group F.

Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou are both expected to play a role in Ivory Coast's clash with Benin this Saturday, while John Mikel Obi's Nigeria host Ethiopia on Sunday. Both those games are qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.

David Luiz and Ramires are both members of the Brazilian squad set to play Scotland in a friendly on Sunday in London. It will be the only international game for the duo during this break.
