Agreed...NCFOM is great but the ending has, disappointingly, a 'is that it' vibe :( .

Thanks for the 'heads up' though MM, makes me realise we really could do with having a thread that highlights (on a daily basis & typically at least 24 hours in advance) all of the top movies that get shown on freeview channels  ...

TBH I fail to see any real difference in creating a new thread in the same forum when you could simply bump the FMOTB thread (unless you really believe that having the name of a movie in the thread title significantly changes things)...but as previously stated, I'm only really focused on protecting my (somewhat bruised :( ) ego rather than being concerned about other FISO members sticking to forum etiquette  ...

i think it does increase chances yeah - some people need it waving right in their faces before they click on it. myself included to be fair

not that its something that needs doing much - just so happens that Superbad and NCFOM were two of my fav movies of recent times and i always hound the hell out of people when they come on cos i wanna share, so they got threads

plenty of other films i would love people to see, but doubt there would be many more worth their own thread.

i bet there are plenty of people who miss how good the Fav Movies thread is because they don't realise its a regular highlights thread. Stick it in big capital letters

"TONIGHTS MOVIES LISTED IN THIS THREAD - IF YOU DO NOT CLICK THIS THREAD THEN YOU MAY MISS SOMETHING REALLY REALLY GOOD AND ONLY HAVE YOURSELF TO BLAME"

Prick up your Ears hasn't been on for ages, nor the Vanessa Paradis film (Blanche Noir?). My two faves, and the expected Norman Wisdom revival has not happened

While she is stunning, her pics are heavily airbrushed, and remove her tache, in particular

Rachel is head and shoulders above her. Is there aby other reasin to watch the Mummy films? Well except the Cleopatraesque woman 8-)

I'd be interested to know if this is actually the case, as if a fair percentage of those that visit the movie forum don't know what (or care) what the FMOTB thread is all about then I am to an extent wasting my time keeping it updated.

That's not, BTW, a threat that I'll stop updating the FMOTB thread, just an acknowledgement that changes will need to be considered & then implemented to ensure that going forward everyone that would want to put the info on that thread to good use is actually in a position to do so...

I do use the thread quite a bit, but then maybe I am one of the few that use the last updated links?

Ironfist not seeing Pouzars Middle East thread is an example of (in this case) someone who just huts the FPL forums.....

And it is one of the threads that I do look out for updates to.

Most of the pictures I post on the FMOTB thread have been airbrushed (including Rachel's & (shock horror) Keira's  ) to a greater or lesser extent.

As for Ms Weisz, I'm trying to avoid posting pictures of actresses that have had pictures posted previously (Scarlett is obviously the exception to that particular rule  ) therefore I decided not to post anything when highlighting 'The Mummy'...

You like Scarlett

It is a matter of degree, re airbrushing etc,
and Rachel doe not suffer from it as much - the Libriarian look in Mummy films is her best :?

Winslett in her lower budget films looks better than the big budget films, and Keira, well. I doubt there was much air brushing going on in Bend it Like Beckham, etc. She actually (inho) peaked early, and is getting back to those levels again, but only recently. Notoriously bad memory, here, but what was the mad gangster, or bounty hunter film she made years ago? (Bounty Hunter?)

yep, i know where you're coming from - it takes effort to update regularly and would be nice to be going to good use. i would certainly hope so, and if you carry on doing it I for one will be clicking on it.

but you know what forums are like. there will be people that read that thread religiously and set their watch by it, people that read it but then maybe forget the films are on, people that have read it in the past but don't bother now, people that see it pop up in the Latest Posts but never read it, people that will be unaware at the minute that its a thread they really wanna read :? etc etc

so that's the crack with that IMO

as far as posting the a new thread highlighting a film, always worth doing IMO - just grabs the attention of those who don't plan their films ahead or aware there is someone doing it for them. if 95% of FISO read the FMOTB thread i'd still do it for the other 5% :D

but like i said, i'll personally only do it on films i deem unmissable. or if i see its on in 15 minutes and wonder if anyone else wants a last minute heads up - like with Old Country.

popped into your thread earlier in the day, missed the Sat preview (my fault) so then just gave a shout out at 10pm

geez, this is getting deep :?

Domino 8-)

She was a bounty hunter. The character was based on the life of a real person, supposedly.
