Apologies if somebody has started a thread elsewhere.. but i was wondering.. is anybody looking forward to playing championship fantasy this year..
I am.. due to the fact that i was keenly knowledgeable about the relegated teams.. and also keenly interested in the fortunes of the newly promoted teams ( brighton, southampton etc)

I entered that once, but the prices were very odd - didn't they randomly change and leave having to do extra transfers to keep the team in budget?

I didn't play it, I found it midseason and planned to target monthly prizes but never got round to it

we are hoping the Telegraph do a version.. i genuinely feel i have knowledge of at least 3 of the teams involved!! in fact i might call my team the relegated!!

Telegraph did run a game for a couple of seasons, believe around 28,000 entered when it was free, and then they started charging went down to around 12,000 entries and that killed it. Was a good one though.

I finished 5th in that so kinda liked it.Overuse of transfers prevented a win or thereabouts.

Given the fanbase of Westham & Birmingham. the Telegraph might do well to bring it back.. offer it as a sweetner to joining the premierleague..
so.. if you pick 3 teams for £10... you get free entry in to champs.. and still the winner gets normal MOM OR MOW etc!

Sadly unless there's a mega change of heart Telegraph won't be bringing it back as I ask every year and gave this request in my feedback as a Super League chairman (as asked) both by e-mail and on their Facebook page a few weeks back - plus sent a direct e-mail via the 'contact us' option in their games and got a reply saying there are no plans to run a Championship game this season or in the forseable future! :-(

Maybe they could have a football league game including all 3 divs. It would be a killer but fun.

My local paper did one like that for last season, all 4 divs included in it. Very strange pricing of players as the prem players where a lot more expensive than say League 2 players but the scoring system was the same regardless of what division they where in. So the idea was to find the best teams from the bottom 2 divisions.
Didnt enter as it was a fiver for one top prize of £250 but I think you could enter it online so if they do it again this season will post details.

A local game for local people? Surprised FISO hasn't colonised it yet

....this was a cleverTV game syndicated across many local papers (would assume they would all have been trinity group, as cleverTV run the youthe manager game for the mirror as well) - entry was £5 but i think the total prize was £500, trouble was that was across the whole country, not for each local region. Unless i read it wrong, but if that's the case, it wasn't made clear, or advertised well enough. Only came across the game(s) after a google search - no mention of it in any local paper here in that london.

Silentmanager ran a game across all the leagues five or six seasons ago, sponsored by the league paper - a fun game, but it didn't last. Was free to enter, prize included a season ticket to your local club, and free pukka pies for a year.

And back in the day - the star ran a prediction game across all four leagues in the nineties (at which i had some success, as did a certain j rich from bath, whose name is still on the star leaderboard this year), but it can't have made much money, as they changed to a standard premierleague ff game in the early noughties.

I'm sure the telegraph did league 1 and 2 a while back, which was brilliant :D

It's part of what we were saying - last year just Premiership - but year before Prem and Championship and year before that (first year ever) Telegraph done all 4 leagues Prem, Champ, Legaue 1 & 2 - all seperate games - I only ever did Prem & Championship but sadly even that did not last...

The Texaco game is run by OFL so if you have played there games in the past it will be familiar, same basic scoring but with 30 transfers which is plenty.
I have played the Texaco game the last 2 seasons and have enjoyed it along with other Fisoer's.

Last years one is still up if you want to look at the rules, players' scores and such - http://fantasy.football-league.co.uk/

On the subject of long gone championship games there was also a championship TFFO ie. 18 man squad, select your eleven for each fixture set, telegraph scoring (more or less). Sadly like the Premier TFFO its existence was kept pretty secret by the telegraph so no many people played and it only lasted a couple of years.

Texaco up and running http://fantasy.football-league.co.uk

For political reasons this is now not an official FISO league, the official one is elsewhere.

This league is now edited to Alternative Outcasts League.......entrants by PM, to me, only, i hope this is an acceptable way of dealing.

Anyone already entered i've accepted :D

I've joined up. Will there be enough interest for a specific FISO forum for this league?

I've put my team - Ducks in a Puddle - in today.

Only 7 teams in at the moment, but there's still 3 weeks until kick-off.
