So the deadline this week is Sunday not Saturday? :?

Is this mentioned in the rules anywhere?

The deadline to make changes to your team for the next game week (Saturday midday 25th December to Saturday midday 1st January) will be midday on Saturday, 25th December.

Looking at the transfer countdown clock wilbert mentioned it looks to me that the next deadline will be Sunday 26th December and Midday and NOT saturday (Christmas Day).

The T&Cs clearly state a gameweek is noon to noon on Saturdays. Can't see that they specify any exceptions. Wilbert is right though - the countdown indicates Sunday noon.
I will make mine in advance of Saturday noon to be safe.

Yes sunday would be better, IE for call off's, though I will get a team ready just in-case, just a bit worried about Torres will only get one fixture in!! By the Way, when is the next 6 Transfer Thingy.

There will be transfer windows that occurs during the game-week immediately following the actual Premier League transfer window. This will allow you to make an additional 5 free transfers, giving you a total of 6 free transfers to use in that game-week.

so i'm guessing 29th Jan to 5th Feb

Hello

I was hoping up could clear up some confusion for me. On the transfer clock in the Metro game its showing that game week 18 starts in 3 days 14 hours.

There is an early kick off on the 26th at 12 between Fulham and West Ham does this transfer clock represent when the games start or when the deadline for transfers is?

In your Terms and Conditions you state:-

Substitutions and formation changes also follow the game-week structure and act in the same way as captain changes in that they can be continually changed throughout the week but will be fixed at noon on Saturday for scoring in the following game week.

When is the deadline for me to make transfers, captain changes and bench players to count for gameweek 18? Is it 12 noon on Saturday as per your terms and conditions or 12 noon on Sunday as per the transfer page gameweek countdown?

Thanks in advance

Wilbert

Just sent this mail to them. Do you think I should have said Merry Christmas?

I think we've already had a reply - from mr (or ms) hafsol earlier on in the thread - a little research indicates that he (or she) might be connected with metro/gfm, as their only previous post was also to do with a metro game. It was also worded straightforwardly - not the usual style for a "newbie". And i'd suggest that the "game week" start time isn't the same anyway as the transfer deadline - by coincidence they both happen to be at midday, though on different days, this week; usually they'd be 45 minutes apart on the same day (saturday).

Great point quizking, well made. :)

If it is the case its a tad annoying that the countdown clock only appears on the transfers page when it relates to the first kick off.

Can anyone remember what this countdown clock usually shows?

Dear Wilbert,

The countdown clock is counting down to the start of the first match in the next game week.  The transfer deadline is midday Saturday as always.

Kind regards,
Pablo

Just got the above response too.

Good job there was a challenge to my original assumption that the countdown click on the Transfer page is actually until the first game. Sorry guys.

Why should you have dumped Cahill this week? I think he would have been a very solid pick during this double game week. The water works and pipes being froozen at Goodison is just one of those unforseen events unfortunately for us fantasy footballers. All reports up until yesterday were saying the pitch at Goodison was fine. I have also been screwed over by the Everton cancellation this week.

I brought him in as well in one of my Tourny teams for Arshavinsgs so will keep an eye on that match up.... Hopefully someone might have Captained him or Torres.... or Maybe Baines which i was thinking in one team! Though I bet Gabbidon/Parker will get big points from the bench in this double. :)

Was thinking about VdV/Lampard strategy over the coming weeks but you're right I would have been livid if he carried on his current form and I'd missed out on major points by pulling trigger too soon. You're also right that it's one of those unforseen circumstances.
