Any ideas of how much that would cost?

It only appears to be 2 miles, so it's walkable. But we will have 2 little kids with us so may be a bit too much. Underground is out of the question.

Paid £14 for 3.5-mile trip for three people with several suitcases last week.

So two miles likely to cost about a tenner.

Yes, probably too far to walk. Cab about £10 at a guess, depends on time of day/whether it gets caught up in traffic. Or you could take the tube to Temple (circle/district line from Victoria) and walk from there?

going with the wife to be and children, 1 suffers with vertigo and can't go on escalators (so no tube). Going to a matinee performance of Shrek the Musical on a Sunday afternoon. May have to be a cab.

No 11 bus - Eastbound at Victoria bus station - get off at Aldwych - which is a stones throw from the south entrance to Drury Lane.

Not sure how much change you will get from a tenner though and you will need an oyster card to get the cheapest deal.

Will go past houses of parliament, Westminster catherdral, Buck house and down the strand.

Type Victoria in the box that comes up and follow route 11 (in red)

I thought a day bus ticket thing wasn't too expensive, and it would be £10 back in the cab?

With 4 people I would have thought it would be marginal cost wise and a lot less hassle to get a cab - certainly if you wanted to break up the journal - pop off bus for a few snaps outside a few stops - see a few sites then a day ticket might make sense - public transport in london is embarrasingly expensive when compared to well anywhere else in the world.

4 bus fares will cost you £8 better off with a cab. No hassle will drop you outside the door for only about £3 more at most,

Looks like my degrees aren't enough to get me through the TfL ticket Course.

Do kids get on the bus cheaper?

I like the idea of the number 11 if it takes in all those sites too, as it will be good for the little people.

How would you have coped with the dizzy heights of Sugar Towers?

Get a cab.....bundles of them outside Victoria Station. Should be a tenner, maybe just more. You will probably head down towards Parliament Square and then down Whitehall (look out for Downing Street on your left), and then down the Strand to Drury Lane.

If not, you'll go straight on from Parliament Square, then left down the Embankment with nice river views of the wheel on the South Bank. Either way you'll get to see quite a lot in a short trip.

Enjoy!

It's easy if you have grass like in Scotland. That's easy on the feet.

tbh, I quite like the idea of walking. It will be good for us! Just a little concerned about little legs. May walk there and get a cab/bus/carrier pigeon back again....

my 3 and 7 year old managed a 5 mile walk earlier this year (still winter) the trick is to break the journey up (if they see a bench we have a rest and some chocolate etc)

wait and see what the weather's doing, if it's nice, leave plenty of time and saunter gently... if it's crap, taxi.

edit - just checked my fb - 2nd January.
