I wouldn't know (and don't call me Shirley) but I think they will prove to be the most malleable and marketable for the evil purposes of Cowell Inc and won't sink into obscurity like Wayne Shard and the rest.

The Military Wives Choir looks certain to have the Christmas number one, after becoming the fastest-selling single in six years, despite murf's ears still not having been subjected to it.

The Official Charts Company says 242,000 copies of the single, Wherever You Are, have been sold in two days.

The last time a single sold so well in its first two days was when X Factor winner Shayne Ward shifted 313,000 copies of That's My Goal in 2005, a fact murf proudly failed to remember in the Sporcle challenge the other day.

The choir has outsold Little Mix by a ratio of 6:1 since Sunday.

Last week the girl band sold 210,000 copies of their Damien Rice cover record, considerably lower than previous X Factor winners.

It appears that i have unwittingly contributed to this
Mum wanted the choir single for christmas, so i pre ordered it on amazon

I missed Shayne Ward and Leon Jackson too. A classic case of where are they now ?

I typed in everyone from Michelle MacManus to Steve Brookstein to Darius Danesh....it was like a who's who of nonetity pop stars. Leon is one letter off Leona, that's how I will remember him for future pub quizzes

To be fair to Darius he did write his own stuff and had a few hits off an album before going into Chicago, I think...
