Bent D - seemed to be on fire in pre-season, is stating that he wants to play every game and is openly challenging his friend Defoe for the a starting spot. Seems like the fire is burning in his gut and he wants to score. Also, he has played in the premiership so doesn't need any time to adjust.

Berbatov - did well last season, especially near the end. Seems to have adjusted to the pace of the premiership and seems central to everything happening in attack for Tottenham.

......

RVP is my other starting striker. Forssell on the bench. Have space for Bent or Berb as a second starting striker but can't seem to make up my mind. I'm aware of the rotation that will be happening up front for TH but still expect one of Bent or Berbs to do well in FF.

Any last minute opinions? Have I missed anything?

I went for Berbatov because he is more of a complete striker compared to D.Bent who is more content with scoring than anything else. Berba can score, set it up, and a good bender of dead balls, so I'm predicting he has more to offer than Bent but I'm not suggesting that Bent isn't prolific goals wise.

Berb might not score as many as Bent/Keane but he will be involved in the majority of the goals as well as scoring a handful himself so he will pick up more BPs and assists. Jol has mentioned that he might play with Bent/Berb up front and Keane on the LW with Defoe rotating in when needed. If Spurs finally do sell Mido that will be the clincher as Jol needs a big man up front which should virtually cement Berb's position unless he really needs a rest.

indeed. because of his value, i'm definitely considering tevez over berbs and bent. but i'm concerned as he hasn't yet played with MU. will be interesting to see how things go on wednesday. decisions decisions. sticking to berbs or bent for now.

The problem with Tottenham players is the rotation issue. I'm going for Berbatov as his unique creative ability should mean he plays more than the other three.

I wouldn't go for any Tottenham strikers for the time being as there are just too many top notch forwards there to not rotate them all.

I think that Berb and Bent will form the partnership early doors with Robbie being introduced after a few weeks.

so confused about who to go for from spurs

i mean keane should be a genuine consideration too as he has been scoring also pre season as mentioned above

I have D Bent at the moment just as I can see him putting quite a few awat from Keane/Berbatovs assists....

I can't see anything other than Berbatov being #1 at the start of the season, by the time Jol gets into his ouija board selection habit, Tevez will be in situ and playing at United...

Jol backing Berbatov to score 35 this season

This obviously doesn't mean that Berbatov is immune to the rotation problem at TH but it seems that Berbatov will be the most integral part of TH's offense. Hopefully, for those of us that end up picking him, this will help make up for the likelihood that he won't often be playing the full 90.

Berbatov strikes as someone who does the work so his team mates can score. Stretching defences and all that. Anyone have any preseason stats on him easily available. Assists and goals?
