I've seen numerous teams with BAE (Benoît Assou-Ekotto), actually a LOT of WC teams seem to be including or being told to include him, as per topic I see no reason at all for this;

0 goals, 3 assists from 19 games
PPG of 3.7 (26th best defender)
Spurs have never been known for keeping clean sheets
Spurs face ManU, Liverpool, Arsenal and City in the next 8 (3 of which are away)

Am sure there is a reason for it but for the life of me I can't see what? :) Would someone care to enlighten me?

OK, the 4 home fixtures are decent looking and they have kept a few clean sheets at home this year, but with King and Gallas out I can't say that bodes well for many more.

I expect with the return of aaron lennon, Bale is most likely going to move back into that roaming wing position where he spends gobs of time on the opposite wing and far forward central, with BAE moving into a very advanced role on the wing. I can see a couple CS coming up, and an assist or two.

i also dont have him in my squad cause i just dont see it being that good of a value. but i see why some people would want to gamble.

I agree with the OP. I've got BAE but my intention was always to drop him after the wolves game. There are much cheaper defenders available from teams who seem to keep much more regular clean sheets. However, I felt BAE was vital for the recent spurs run of fixtures and DGW - besides the spurs defence have actually looked ok of late.

Regardless I will be selling him for (probably) Senderos in time for GW22.

In the Sun game he's the 3rd highest scoring defender and Spurs play Wolves Everton Wigan Watford Man City and Liverpool next before a transfer window.( he's in my team)

Clean sheets and decent marking, Kyle Walker is 5th.

Jones
Kompany
Ekkoto
Baines
Walker

Not including their cup win against Cheltenham which was also a clean sheet( because none of the regular defence featured) Spurs have had 5 clean sheets out of their previous 8 games. All games count in Sun FF.

There's only two cheaper defenders with higher score than him atm. That's the way a lot of people think, even though there's cheaper options with slightly less.

I think he's a solid performer, and he's served me well since gw15, when I brought him in with the double in mind. Spurs have been on a good run too.

I've got BAE in my team, and I think the only reason I put him in was I wanted a Spurs defender for the DGW, and couldn't afford Walker, so I went for the one I thought would be the next best who played regularly, and I settled with Ekkoto.

Hes only the 14th most picked defender at 10% so its not like everybody has him. I currently do for the same reason as Star man but will be wildcarding him out as they have some tough fixtures coming up.

Spurs have also improved in the cs department this season with the addition of Parker and only Utd, City and Swansea have kept more.

Aye, I don't think anyone who has had him in their team over the last month or so has been complaining much. One of the cheapest regular defender of the top clubs, and might have been THE cheapest for those who got him a while ago. Maybe some people have missed the BAE boat.

6 points for him in the double so far, bring on the next 6...

Don't underestimate the addition of Friedel (and the subsequent subtraction of Gomes  ) on the Clean sheet quota

24 points for a DGW suggests you are missing something ;)

BAE thank you very much, your 24 points have helped me hit the 100+ club for the 1st time this season! not bad for a defender who doesnt assist or score goals!

the hoofed diagonal ball was a bit of a lucky 3 points but that goal - great hit. (although it was deflected) Not bad at all for a man that hates football. I just feel sad for those who went for walker; perhaps a slightly better bet going forward and could've scored himself tonight.

24 points? Is that an assumption that he'll get 3 bonus? I'm still showing 21 points - which along with Captain Bale has saved my DGW: Drenthe & Rodwell - what was I thinking?

I hope you not saying that because you thought he was the best player on the pitch. Because that has nothing to do with bonus points this year.
