I hope you not saying that because you thought he was the best player on the pitch. Because that has nothing to do with bonus points this year.

IF A DEFENDER KEEPS A CS, GETS AN ASSIST AND A GOAL HE WILL GET THE MAXIMUM BONUS POINTS. END OF.

Hating myself slightly for wishing I'd captained BAE.

Greedy!

Please PM if you would like me to use my inverted commentators curse on any other players next game-week :) (Maybe he reads FISO and I made him angry).

He's now the joint highest scoring defender and given Kompany is banned will more likely than not become the highest scoring defender after GW21.

I'm planning to ride the price rise, from the transfer influx I'm expecting, before swapping him out to someone else further down the line.

I'm so lucky, I mean I would have definitely gone for Walker had I been able to afford it!

that's the annoying thing for us non-owners. People bring him in for the double hoping for a clean sheet or maybe two and an outside bet of an assist. Then get only his 2nd goal in 6 seasons and 3 bonus to boot!

I'd like to think I was due a bit of luck, after Wayne Rooney's Xmas debacle. When he was ruled out of 2 consecutive games I felt like doing a Jimmy Stewart in 'Its a Wonderful Life'. However, an angel called Benoit Assou Ekotto finally revealed that life wasn't so bad after all...

I expect with the return of aaron lennon, Bale is most likely going to move back into that roaming wing position where he spends gobs of time on the opposite wing and far forward central, with BAE moving into a very advanced role on the wing. I can see a couple CS coming up, and an assist or two.

ok, CS, assist and goal.

I thought I'd revive this thread. I only bought him in the run up to the Spurs double gameweek. I always intended to sell him afterwards, but there were more pressing transfers to make (thank goodness!).

He's become the top scoring defender. So is he now a must have, and if you've got him will you be playing him away to Arsenal next gameweek?

I brought him in for GW 10 at 5m. At 6.1m (soon to be more), I do not think he is a must have.

Although I think that Walker is the better of the two, BAE has benefited greatly from systematically combining with Bale on the left wing, allowing him to overlap the winger and get a good amount of crosses to the box. Walker, I have always felt that he is a bit on his own on the right, he hasn't really established a good partnership with Lennon or kranjcar. Also, it is worth noting that BAE possesses a good kick and it is not rare to see him taking free kicks.

Anyway, Spurs' upcoming couple of fixtures don't have much clean sheet potential, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him grab an assist.

I don't know as much about the beautiful game compared to many on this forum, but I remember watching Match of the Day sometime in November and thinking to myself that he was getting forward quite a lot. From that moment on I had him in my team. I won't be dropping him in the near future either.

Exactly the same here.

I won't be playing him next week because I'm happy with my other options but i'll probably keep him. Tottenham are a solid defensive unit these days.

Gone are the Gomes days

he is probably the 'must have' of the spurs back line. thing is with a solid goalkeeper a more consistent back line, scott parker and the whole way up to the front line chipping in defensively its given spurs alot more clean sheet potential compared to the last few seasons, and ekotto is always up that left wing and as pointed out he has a good free kick, cross and his confidence on the ball is incredible so shots some defenders stick in row z he has a chance with. i'll be playing him against arsenal. saying that though i support spurs and have put adebayor as captain as he'd love another game like this week against newcastle and benched van persie.

Yes, his bloody prescence in my team at any point during the season    . At least I can buy him now or most certainly at GW28 for an inflated £6.1m.

Rant over.
