I was thinking on the way to work - today is the day that Marty McFly arrived in the future after hitting 88mph in a pimped out Delorean in 1985.

That's blatantly been done in Photoshop. The actual date they go to is October 21, 2015.

Look it up

What he really meant is that he'd spotted it all over the media the last day or two, but is pretending he's got great memory :P

* Actually I received an email which I shamelessly copied - but is seems its not even correct! - apparently they set this time in BTTF but only actually went forward in BTTF II to the 2015 per above

I was thinking on my way from the kettle to the fridge that today is the day that Richard the Lionheart was crowned King of England in 1189.

I was -776 at the time , but I have a great memory.

reading this thread reminded me that on this day in 1484, Portuguese sea captain Diogo Cão found the mouth of the Congo River.

I remember it being the 816th anniversary of that on the day when London was awarded the Olympics.

Surely today is really famous for being the 10 year anniversary of the day the then Prime Minister Tony Blair's eldest son, Euan, was arrested for being drunk and incapable.

Ah those were the days.

It's the 68th anniversary that Anne Frank and her family go into hiding in the "Secret Annexe" above her father's office in an Amsterdam warehouse and thus began the most famous, yet boring, diary of all time.

That's quite funny.

Shame to see Michael J Fox these days. One of my favourite series of films.

That was possibly one of your funniest comments ever murf  .

Wickapedia says the date was 6th of June 2010. This might be the excuse I needed to finally watch the box set which has sitting on the shelf unopened since I bought it at a bargain £15 about 3 years ago. I think you can get it for a tenner now  .

This thread has made me feel ancient  . I even remember the Back to the Future sticker album. The film was all the rage and now.......it's 25 years down the line - 2010

Still a great film though :D
