FS Record: 1st overall in FPL - beautiful 24 hours in October 2004...
All right, so my mighty defense looks like this:

Evra - Garrido - Geremi - Carragher - McShane (the ginger from Sunderland)

And I employ the classic 4-in-the-back tactics.

Unfortunately, Geremi seems to be the weakest link and has to be replaced. And so, I'm interested a bit in Arse defensive players - that is: Gallas, Clichy and Sagna (Toure is too expensive - that is, I can afford him, but I don't want to overpay.

What do you reckon?

P.S. Or would it be better to keep Geremi in the team for another week and instead swap Anelka for Tevez? Is he (Anelka) going to be alright soon?

i wouldn't keep Geremi. Newcastle haven't kept a cleansheet since sometime in 2006, and that was in an European competition.

Geremi  Gallas is the best bet, IMO, and it's not just because of Gallas' goal yesterday. his defensive performances have been good, and he has a knack for getting into good positions to attack set pieces. there are more goals and bonii due to him, methinks.

What he said about Gallas....though if you want to pay the extra Toure is worth it as he takes some of the free kicks aswell as go up for corners.

Clichy is slightly cheaper than Gallas, and has been very impressive bombing forward all season. How he hasn't got any assists or bonus points yet is beyond me, but he will surely grab a few at some point. He was instrumental in Arsenal's equaliser yesterday when his cross caused all sorts of problems for Man Utd defence before Gallas eventually volleyed it in
