the element in my cooker broke, hobs and grill worked ok so bought new element and fitted myself, worked for 30 mins then cut all electrics off.ive since had a sparky in to look at it and since he has played with the wires he tells me the whole cooker is knackered and now nowt works at all.hobs and grill ok before he touched it now its all fooked so should he be responsible for replacing my cooker?

How can it be working perfectly before the sparky looked at it as you only called the sparky when all the electrics went off after your repair?

makes more sense, cheers.

there probably was something wrong in the first place when the element "went", fair chance that it wasn't too safe just using the hobs/grill and I'd just bite the bullet and get a new cooker.

I ain't no sparky though if you hadn't guessed!
