Anyone watching the Bolton Liverpool game will have heard Gray's applaling slating of the Linesman's after the decision was given for the freee kick which led to the Bolton goal.

Initally however Gray actually agreed with the Linesman decison - it was only after he saw the replay did he start to slate the linesman - it was a tough ( and subsequently incorrect) call to make without seeing the video replay but Gray's performance as a commentator and his slating of the Linesamn was appaling and out of order in my opinon.

I admit I find Gray nauseating at best but surely it is time he was given the push by Sky for some new blood...If ever there was someone who needs to be brought down a peg or two it is the plank of a commentator that is Andy Gray !!. rant over !!

Its the linesman who deserves the slating, not Gray. It was a shockingly bad decision, one which could cost Liverpool 3 points.

I hope he receives punishment for this mistake. :x

Gray is dreadfully biased against Liverpool and knows nothing of the rules of football. His defence of Campo when he pushed Kuyt for what could/should have been a penalty was incredible. So what if it was accidental? A foul is a foul - intent is only relevant for handballs and giving cards.

Ignore the idiot.

1. Was never a penalty
2. WHen Gray 1st saw it he thought the keeper had carried the ball outside the box, but when he saw it from the linesman's view he realised he hadn't. I don't think there's anything wrong with that from Andy. It's pretty obvious that the linesman made a howler.

Gray only realised his ( & the linesman) mistake when he saw the video replay !!!

Yes...from the linesman's angle which was far better than Gray's initial view!!

And "the linesman's view" was incorrect because he was standing in the wrong place.

exactly - the point being that Gray must have seen the linesman flag and commentated that Reina had handled outside the area..but then turned on the linesman when it was obvious via the video replay it was the wrong call !!

The guy is a do-nut !!

Not seen the incident yet but keepers have been pushing their luck with this one for blinkin ages. As do most with the 6 seconds rule.

Yes.I see too many times they are kicking ball outside of the penalty area and they get away with it.

Just put Fanzone on instead, it's much more entertaining...

Hear Hear
I've already said he is a ist class PRICK previously.
Its easier to be wise with hindsight, but just shows hes a hypocrite too.
When Gerrard scored against Olympiakos and he screamed 'Oh you Beauty' it was a delayed reaction, he hated it and every Liverpool supporter knew it. He appears to try and remain impartial when Liverpool play-IN HIS OPINION- but his guard invariably slips on a 5 mins basis when he continues to spout BOLLOCKS.

The number of steps rule has been dropped but I'm sure the 6 second rule is in force.

Annoyingly the plank is back and upto speed with his usual bombing calls in the Wigan/Manchester game...he just kept dithering about VDS handling outside the box - then retracted, then changed his mind again...AAAGGHH !!!!

Seems like I'm on my own then - I prefer Gray's commentary to anyone else who does it.

Did the same with the Zokora dive. Thought it was a pen at first (just like Redknapp and pretty much everyone else) then saw the replays and slagged off the ref.

Ref never stood a chance and now has been demoted!

I find that ridiculous as it will serve to make refs nervous about making calls as they see them: no punishment for Zokora who was the diver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can that be justified?

I dont mind Gray, I think he's one of the only commentators/pundits on the box who actually has some idea what he's on about. He highlights things from the game that are actually interesting observations, unlike the likes of Jamie Redknapp, Alan Shearer, Ally McCoist etc.

I enjoyed watching him slate Titus Bramble after the Newcastle - Bolton match yesterday. He highlighted just how bad he is!
