Agree, think best way to learn is by playing.

& asking/discussing what is going to happen/has just happened & why -

Hoity Toity is the simplest to learn, probably Santiago next. A few quick blasts on Wallenstein (2 player) & the game is fairly clear. Hacienda, is fairly slow paced but you can make some sense of it. Bus takes a while to get into - patience is a key factor as you can't do much early on. Tikal is probably best learnt by watching someone who knows how to play it.

Me neither. In fact I'm confused already. According to the list above the game I've put my name down for hasn't started yet but I've already been making selections! :?

Sorry, seems everyone was waiting for me tonight
I can do them all on phone i think, but working late turns is busy busy.

On a side note, what is the point of Sanitago??
I don't see anything on the board indicating ownership of anything

Your tiles have markers of your colour on them - 1 or 2 at the top of the tile. At the end of the game, each tile is worth the number of counters on it multiplied by the total number of tiles of that colour that re connected together - so a green tile with 2 counters in an area of 7 green tiles would count 2 x 7 = 14.

The first round of Santiago 2 was unusual in that the CO (Canal Overseer) - which was me, was not offered a bribe by any of the other players to build the canal by their produce. The CO then chose to build the Canal (at his own cost) in a place which suited him (away from the other players). This has led to all the produce dying out (as their was only one worker on each of the tiles (again unusual).

As CO, I didn't see why I should pay out of my pocket to build a canal to help the others earn money (hence the need for bribes) - It was a harsh lesson, but they'll learn to respect the CO

 I picked the last region in the open Wallenstein game and all hell broke lose! I have tried to read the rules but in the end I just selected some random things. Oh, and I think I attacked Adrian too!

Wallenstein is pretty easy once you've played a season and seen what it does tbh
You can either add troops to an area, build something, get grain or gold, or attack someone.
You need grain to feed you people and gold to buy stuff.
You score points for having territories, and most buildings of each type in each of the five areas of the map.

Probably, will wait and see if we get any more before deciding on the format for the knockout. Might go with some groups (Champions League style) or random draw or something else

Too right, you should see the state of them!

Seriously though, folks, you ignore getting grain at your peril - those winter revolts can really hurt you.

FISO HOITY TOITY 3 seems to have stalled.

If I have it right, jeffersdn needs to select which items to exhibit for the game to progress. (Then Digsby can steal one, and Ashers, TFG, Kizkiz and myself can give Digsby a right good going over)

Yep, just waiting on Jeffers to decide what to exhibit, nice summary of the situation, the only thing you missed is the release of one of my thieves who has quite clearly served his time & is ready for parole
