seems to have stopped working on my car radio. Is there something wrong with the stereo or is it to do with the digital switchover?

It was a bit fuzzy for me at around 6pm if that helps.

Haven't tried it since, but I know it's one of those stations that can be a bit temperamental!?

Analogue radio won't be shut off for a few years yet

Two important points to note about radio switchover are:

It's not an analogue radio switch off. FM will still be used for ultra local and community radio stations, but at switchover, national radio stations will stop broadcasting on FM in favour of digital platforms.

A switchover date hasn’t been confirmed yet. Certain criteria set by government has to be satisfied before there is a decision on when radio switchover will happen.

Industry is working towards a target date of 2015, but it is purely a target and subject to change, so you can continue to listen to FM for the time being. The switchover criteria will determine when we will actually switch over - Which? thinks it is likely to be later than 2015

How did you guess I have "done" IT.

Next question: Are there any lights on, on the radio (or any sign of live)? 8-)

What about LW?

I think it is fair to say that it is the radio\aerial, rather than AM\MW in general 8-)

FS Record: TFFOSM MotW in 2008 and MotM in 2003. 78th overall in TFFO for 2002/3 and 2003/4
Give the radio a firm thump or 2 and it will work again. Use your hand rather than a hammer though.

Not even a hiss sort of noise?

Violence only works sometimes in these situations, and can break something properly, says Confucious :?

Duff radio then. No hiss means no attempt to engage MW........... Try pressing the buttons very hard.

Rangers are losing, btw.
