A lot of Ryder Cup players in these events hard to judge how they will play after the efforts of last week. A big week for Lee Westwood a top 2 finish will make him the worlds number 1.

it is proving very hard to judge how they are playing today, as the european tour leaderboard has been having issues most of the morning :|

The worst thing about the European tour is their leaderboard. I wonder how much money the thieves that run it make on betfair

Just read that if Westwood did not play for the next 2 weeks he would have become world number 1 :o

We are currently experiencing scoring problems from the Alfred Dunhill Links. We are working on resolving the issue. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Taken from Euro site :(

McIlroy doubles 15th to go back to level.

Laird joint leader on 6 under even though on difficult KingsBarns.

Danny Willett going well on 5 under. Sorry just bogeys 13th to go back to 4 under.

Westwood 2 under and clearly still has some calf/ankle issue due to heavy strapping around the ankle.

Kaymer in 7th after 4 under for the day.

Loads on 2 under incl Els, Fisher, Harrington.

Means young Rory found the water at one of the signature holes. He's in good company - I've done it too

Hope this image works - pin is probably cut towards the right hand side and the Championship tee poses an intimidating challenge which the photo doesn't capture. (As do most of the tees to be honest!!)

Brought Westwood into all 8 of my teams last night, which considering his schedule seemed the only sensible thing to do.

Not been a good year for me

If he drops out tomorrow and doesn't play next week, will he still become No. 1, or would a w/d cost him, world ranked points-wise?

Not sure about a w/d this week on OWGR.

News is that he is planning on playing on. I imagine he feels the treatment can sort it - given he w/d from the Bridgestone & missed the USPGA, he doesn't smack of being one to play on just for the sake of it. Perhaps being #1 will make the pain ease a little!

I, too, brought him in en masse this week. :|

A WD counts as an event played with zero ranking points, thus bringing down his average ranking points per event - and this would almost certainly prevent him from overtaking Woods were he not to tee it up in Portugal.

Westwood seems to have recovered, he's up to 4th, -6 for the day and back in contention!

Edoardo Molinari seems to have lost interest today. Dropped 9 shots over first 15 holes today including taking 6 to get down from a greenside bunker including 2 duffed chips after thinning a difficult bunker shot (8 on a par 5).

I think I have definitely blown it this year. Team in 23rd called WESTWOOD be KAYMER man took westwood and Kaymer oout for all their big points and decided not to do the SLOCUM move last week as had adequate players. Everyone will have their sob stories but I think I may be crying into my absinthe this evening LOL!!!
