You'll start with £100m.
Players will be auctioned in groups. The number of players in each group is one less than the number of managers, so one manager will always miss out. Each player has a position (GK, DF, MF, ST) and a star rating from 2 to 5.
A list of players in the first auction group will be published, and each manager must then send me a PM with their bid, which must be a multiple of £1m (so no cheeky bids of a fiver). You're not bidding on an individual player, just on the chance to have first choice. You can bid zero if you wish.
Once all the bids are in, I ignore any that are duplicate or zero and will publish the order in which managers will be selecting players from the available group. If everyone made an acceptable bid, then one manager will miss out, but will still have to pay half of the bid as an admin fee.
Current squads and available cash will be kept up-to-date and publicly available. Random events may occur to alter a player's abilities after he has been signed.
Auctions continue until each manager has 4 players, one manager has 11 players or one manager runs out of money.
A set of games is then played, with each team playing both home and away. Before each game, a random event may occur that will affect one or both teams. This will be published at the same time as the fixtures are announced.
The home team manager will need to PM me with his formation. If there are fewer than eleven players available, then youth team players (rated at 1 star) will make up the numbers. Players can play out of position with the loss of one star rating, although goalkeepers must play in goal, outfield players cannot play in goal and defenders and strikers are not interchangable unless specified at the time of the auction.
Valid formations are: 5-4-1, 5-3-2, 5-2-3, 4-5-1, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 3-4-3 and 3-5-2.
I will then publish the best squads for both home and away teams in the selected formation.
Matches are played and a commentary will be published. The team with the strongest midfield will launch more attacks, a decent defence will deal with these but a strong strikeforce will be more likely to force an attempt on goal, at which point it comes down to the standard of the keeper. Watch out for injuries, cautions, dismissals, dodgy refs and angry fans.
Once the first set of games have been played, an extra £10m will be dished out, plus extra prize money and interest from the bank.
More auctions will take place, and games will be played at the following intervals:
Set 1: When all but one manager has 4 players (followed by extra cash) Set 2: When all but one manager has 6 players (followed by extra cash) Set 3: When all but one manager has 8 players (followed by extra cash) Set 4: When all but one manager has 10 players Set 5: When all but one manager has 11 players
In addition, extra cash in the form of season ticket sales (based on the number of 5* players in the squad) will be dished out when each manager has 7 players.
