It can be done!

The usual way to catch somebody isn't to copy him but I think You should still get Tevez and maybe Baines (for now?)

Chelsea have few games coming up so Malouda and Torres can go but, as well as focussing on a target XI, I would concentrate on the fixture list and get some bonus games over the next couple of weeks whilst building towards that team. Everton have bonus games hence saying Baines. Other options include Cahill.

On the other hand... As I said to my main rival down pub at lunchtime (he's in 5th place, to my top 4 places)...

<< "XXXXX, as you're my friend, just a heads up, I'm ditching my Chelsea defenders for Everton defenders as they have five games to Chelsea's two" >>

Thus maintaining my lead at top of the league, and making sure he burns transfers.

Sorted :D

how about

ivanovic to baines
malouda to cahill
torres to tevez

this leaves 13 transfers and balance of 3.2m to upgrade gardner/nolan/coleman when necessary?

Think your defence looks ok to be honest.

What about....
Malouda  Fabregas
Torres  Tevez
Gardner  Everton M/F ?? - Fellaini could be pushed further forward if Cahill is out for a while but if you want to think outside the box a little you could always try Rodwell (check on injury news, he's expected back), Lee or Holden @ Bolton or perhaps Pennant @ Stoke.....??

All in all, Gardner doesn't do enough to warrant a place in your Team IMO, Brum don't score many.....and Fabregas and Tevez will always pretty much guarantee points plus they've both got some decent fixtures on the horizon.

You've got transfers to burn so may as well use a few now and start clawing that lead back....good luck with whoever you choose to go for :D

cheers bandit

i will do the malouda to fabregas transfer tonight, torres to tevez the weekend and look at replacing gardner

do you think i shouldnt try and get a semi man city/everton block then? or just utilise transfers in other areas?

I'm no expert by any means so go with what you feel is best but if it's an opinion you're after, looking at the above ^^^ i'm not sure that's an improvement to be honest, your defence looks ok to me.

Good luck :D

The fixturelist is as open as it will be this season in my opinion so now maybe the prime time to capitalise. There are City players you could also consider as differentials - Kolarov, Silva, Dzeko, Ballotelli, Yaya....

I think Baines or Cahill (fitness permitting) makes good sense.

Have a look here on bramernic's brilliant site to see if a "daisychain" plan appeals. e.g. Ivanovic  Kolarov  Man Utd

Hadn't spotted a City  United daisy chain but it does become slightly appealing IF City get beaten by in the next Cup game. Win and the most I can see is United having only have 1 extra game (as with many clubs, most weekends), draw and the reply makes it equal.

with fab out for the short term, should i waste a transfer in changing him for cahill (if playing)?

or shall i mess with the defence, Ivanovic to Baines mainly?

just about to press the trigger on ivanovic and rafael (not in starting xi) to baines and distin

will leave 13 transfers

any major reason NOT to do this?

Just did Ivanovic to Baines myself. As for Distin, the only argument against him is that he's a few days away from the glue factory ... but you're really buying their defense, not his lumbering shitness, so why not. Doing both overexposes you a bit given Everton's unpredictability, but then again Rafael isn't very appealing right now so if you have the transfers...

Then again, Kolarov tomorrow looks good. Too expensive?

Not as far as I can see. If it was me I would do it (but my mates don't call me trigger for nothing  )

well i scored 38 points yesterday compared to the leaders 31, the difference i assume being coleman and distin versus his nani

looking at torres to tevez today

what about rooney to dzeko as a gamble with the possibility of him being banned and at least a 3-1 or possibly 4-0??

How about Malouda -> Da Silva if not Rooney to Dzeko.

I've just done Rooney  Dzeko myself, due to Rooney's possible ban (if not banned , has two tough away games anyway). It is a slight gamble, but may well pay off given City's upcoming fixtures.
