Is there such a thing as a 4m midfielder that is likely to start most games?

A lot of people have Quashie of West Ham but I'm guessing that this is just due to his cheap price as opposed to him actually being likely to play?

Any Suggestions?

Thanks

Cisse (RDG) could play in many games. He's played in all but one of Reading's pre-season games. He's a def/def mid.

I considered having Teale (DER) and Wallace (SUN) on my bench, but I need guaranteed starters as subs in gw2.

Which would you pick with a 4.5 million budget and which would you pick with a 5 million budget?

At the moment I have 4.5 mil for a midfielders and looking at what's available I think Leadbitter and Larsson are probably the best 2 on the list. Who would you pick for 4.5 million?

If I swap AJ for the Yak I can spend 5mil on a midfiedler, then Kapo and Edwards leap out at me.

What would you do and why?

Some people are high on Noble at 4.5. I'm against that theory: I think it makes him too weak to start and too expensive for the 5th on the bench, unless he proves something early on. I'd rather have a 5.0 Edwards or N'Zogbia (after week 2) as the fourth starting midfielder, and a 4.0 starter from a promoted club riding the bench.

That's my 4.0 bencher too. :D

I've got Edwards in as the fourth starter in midfield, but plan on swapping him straight out for N'Zogbia after GW2 if (a) Edwards has shown nothing and (b) N'Zogbia played all 90 in GW1.

Do you expect this Teale fellow to do anything else beside play 60+ minutes each week?

No not really, but do you need much more from someone who you don't intend to play?

Um... No?

My team is, however, working with the No Player Left Behind policy so I'd like my fifth cheaper midfielder to be able to get an assist now and then.

Who's to say which of the cheapo's are going to shine..? When you're spending such a small amount on a player you just go for someone who is getting games and take your chances... no one can do anymore than that.

I like Muamba from Brum at £4m simply because I think he will play much, if it wasn't for having McSheffrey I would have him instead of Teale (don't want two players from one newly promoted team).

So chaps,

With kickoff fast approaching I need 2x 4m midfielders with the best chance of playing (I am just looking for 2 points from them, nothing more)

Who are my best bets:

Teale (DER) seems the most popular choice.

Muamba (BIR) seems to play most games but may be a card magnet (I don't really care about this if he is playing)

Cisse of Reading has been mentioned, but is his place less secure?

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Smertin of Fulham is also quite popular (2nd most selected 4.0 mid). None of them really inspire much confidence though :?

They are what they are, entry level mids who you don't expect to produce too much magic except for a good run out of 2-3 points per game. There isn't a need for any of them if you have a spread out midfield.

I also have Teale, he's an attacking midfielder as far as i know, so should get the odd assist/goal.

I think Teale lost his place to Fagan end of last season, so you might wanna check how their pre-season's gone.

I'm guessing Smertin of Fulham is unlikely to play every week.

Any suggestions as to who is closest to being a certainty (even though there are few 4m players that are) to play when fit?

Going with Teale and Muamba at the moment unless I get some better suggestions.

Smertin and Quashie may play for better teams but will they play at all?

Smertin has played , I think, every game in the pre season. And he is adaptable position wise. Cant second guess Laurie though.

I think Smertin is getting a new chance under the new manager and as has already been mentioned, he has played a lot over the summer.

With two days to go, I'm currently leaning towards Smertin and Muamba as my cheapies...
