Just to let you know that the YTM team are currently finalising details on a brand new golf game which will feature in the Racing Post.

There will be a prize fund worth £20K+ with a decent chunk of this being cash.

It will be based on the PGA and European Tours from The Masters until the USPGA.

It will launch next week.

More details will be posted when we have them.

Thanks,
YTM

Edit: Game now live at:

I just entered a team and noticed that there is no Mini League format in this competition. With such great prizes on offer I wonder why they couldn't run to a prize for a Mini League.?

There is. But no prize for it.

Join from the left hand menu, when you're looking at your team page.

I've set one up

Got to hand it to you, ytm, these comps are great and offer terrific prizes for the price of a fiver.

Any chance of a tennis one too in the near future?

Thanks Spencer. I never noticed the Mini League on the Menu (eyesight must be going). I just entered a Team for the fun of it "Rough Raker".

Ps. Played in our first Club Medal Today and finished on a net -2 under par.

Tom,

It's good to see a new golf contest with a reasonable prize kitty.

As selections cannot be changed during the first five weeks, could ytm possibly collate information on draft entry lists for tour events in April/early May? During the team building phase this would certainly help anyone looking for potential points AFTER the US Masters. Thank you.

Funny enough Andy I had the same problem and put up a post about it. Spencer then told me that you join from the left hand menu when you're looking at your team page. I went back to the site later on that day and lo and behold the Mini League had suddenly appeared on the Menu. Maybe the Menu changes a day or two after you have entered your team. ?

How many guys do you actually see in the last category that are playing in the Masters. I can only see Langer, Ferrie, Beem and Hamilton. Since the points are double for the Majors i kind of want to get a full team from the Masters as they'll get 8 points just for making the cut.

YTM seem to have adopted a payment transactor called Click and Buy.I haven't come across this one before, and it won't accept my payment. It keeps rejecting my address, asking me to confirm that I live 50 yards down the road on the other side.
So that's my interest in YTM games over.
Anyone know anything about Click and Buy and why it demands so much more information than a regular debit card transaction. And why it is useless.

I noticed that there was no Prize Money for the Winners of the Mini League and thought that this was a bit mean considering what is on offer so I fired off an e-mail to the Organisers. I told them what I thought and they just got back to me on this point. (see below)

Prizes
Taking into account the fantastic prize money that is on offer I was surprised to note that there was no prize for the top Mini League of the Competition. What is the point of running a Mini League Section if it is all for nothing.? I thought that the brains behind your competition would realise that the way to attract more customers into the Competition is through the Mini League set up. Your Marketing Manager should have his collar felt.
Answer:
We are currently reveiwing the Mini Leagues on our fantasy games, and have taken this into account. Thanks for your opinion on the matter.

Regards,

Dave @ Helpdesk

with regards payment - there are 2 options: PayPal and ClicknBuy.

if you have any problems we suggest you call the helpline on 0870 487 0183 - where we can take payment over the phone and activate the teams that have a failed payment listed against them in the database.

Thanks

I have had no problems making a simple debit card transaction in past football games.
Is there a reason you are able to disclose why you have abandoned that method, and are using only Paypal (which I prefer not to use)and the useless Click and Buy?
