I've got a feeling that Arsenal could be in for a tough ride next weekend when United travel to the Emirates. Their defence looked quite poor against Swansea this evening, but reports say that Arsene Wenger is hoping Thomas Vermaelen will be fit enough to make a return on Sunday. However, with the ongoing injury problems it's the two fullbacks who are looking rather vulnerable at the moment, Miquel in particular. Could be a good game for Luis Nani and Antonio Valencia.

Agreed. I've currently got Evans, Nani and Rooney, and I was looking at getting rid of at least 2 of those this week with my wildcard due to United's tough fixtures coming up. However, Arsenal are definitely there to be got at, and although Rooney's penalty talking confidence must be nearly zero at the moment, i'm seriously tempted to keep both Rooney and Nani in. Particularly as the week after they play at home to Stoke, who are frankly pants away from home. (Unless they're playing Liverpool's 5 man defence with Carroll and Kuyt up top...)

...followed by Chelsea away and Liverpool at home. I'm not convinced that United are that hot yet, they were only playing Bolton yesterday.

Aye true, and yeah on paper I'll prob get rid of Nani/Rooney before Chelsea and Liverpool, but for 2 games they could be good differentials...

Also, Chelsea away is nothing to be feared at the moment with their defence still looking dodgy. I remember taking RVP out of my team before a disconsolate Arsenal were due to play at Stamford Bridge. Cue a RVP hat-trick :-(

Neither team can defend at the moment and both have the potential to create chances. Very tempted to captain RVP.

It'll be 0-0 then

A lot of people seem keen on the idea of giving RVP the armband. Could be interesting.

i'm on a wildcard but am reluctant to get any man u in at the moment - and i don't think united will get at arsenal as much as people seem to think. united usually play on the counter at the emirates, but arsenal are actually set up much better to deal with that this time round, as their build up is slower than it has been in recent years (and arguably, so is united's).

arteta in particular tends to play with everything in front of him, giving them more cover than perhaps fabregas - and, to a lesser extent - wilshere have done in the past. I also think arteta is a much better semi-DM than most people give him credit for.

I can see that arsenal might be got at down the flanks, but vermaelen is actually very accomplished at LB - he's not an emergency option for sure - and his presence will have a positive influence on the rest of the side.

I also think that the midweek stoke game may well throw up a bit of a weird united teamsheet too, as they've got chelsea the weekend after and might protect one or two. I think i'm going to just go with RVP, bench evans (if i bother with him at all) and keep fingers crossed!
