An already small field could get even smaller.

http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/gol/ ... right-knee

Quote:
The Associated Press has reported that Lucas Glover has sustained a sprained ligament in his right knee.
Glover injured his knee while paddle boarding in Hawaii last weekend. It's not the first time that he's paddle boarded while in the Pacific, but he fell awkwardly off the board this time. He hit balls this morning but struggled in completing an effective swing. Glover then withdrew from today's pro-am. He's scheduled to tee off at 11:35 a.m. local time on Friday for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, but given the severe elevation changes at Kapalua and his status as of today, fantasy gamers are advised to invest elsewhere.

Latest news on Glover says his chances of starting are 50/50.

Paul Casey out of action for a couple of months:

Happy New Year everyone :D

Just to confirm Lucas Glover is listed as DNS (Did Not Start) on the PGA tour leaderboard. This course definately isn't a Bethpage Black so I can't imagine many picked him anyway!

Good luck to everyone starting their Pro Tour and Yahoo golf seasons in half an hour :)

So Shaun what odds on Tim Howard scoring more goals than Torres this season :?: About the same as United beating City on Sunday

Cheers MUF, my mate Biscuit Lover let slip that he picked Glover in his Yahoo team earlier today - decided to text him your tip rather than face the bleating excuses next week..

Lucas Glover has been removed from the published field of this week's Sony Open in Hawaii. No surprise. Even if he wasn't fully exempt through 2015, there is no reason for him to risk doing further damage to his injured right knee. UPDATE: Doug Ferguson of the Associated Press wrote the following on Twitter shortly after Glover withdrew: "Glover hit 3 wedges and a 9-iron before making up his mind. Hopes to be at Torrey Pines in 2 weeks."

Joining Davis Love III, Jacobson and Parnevik on the withdrawals list for the Humana Challenge is Kevin Stadler.

Webb Simpson was forced to withdraw from the Transitions Championship pro-am Wednesday due to a bout with food poisoning.

Last year’s runner-up to Gary Woodland in a playoff remains hopeful that he will be able to tee it up in the opening round.

Competitors are allowed to pull out of pro-am events and still compete in tournament rounds, as long as there is a medical excuse.

Think Bo Van Pelt may have WD?

Most of the bookies have dropped him from the betting.

I don't think he was on the field list this week. The Arnold Palmer Invitational is on his schedule according to his web site. :?

Confirmation that BVP did withdraw....

Bo Van Pelt withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational today.
At the time we are relaying this to you, the information has been limited to the media only. BVP competed for Team Isleworth in the Tavistock Cup this week and shot an even-par 72 in the second round. He was a favorite for the API given that he's posted a TOUR-high four top 10s already this season.

And news that Bjorn is also out........

Thomas Bjorn was removed from the published field of this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational.
A disappointing decision for owners that pounced as he lined up starts in the U.S. He's already eligible for the Masters.

Graeme McDowell pulls out of this week's PGA Tour Wells Fargo event at Quail Hollow.

The 2010 US Open champion said that he felt "under the weather" at last week's Zurich Classic.

"Very much wanted to play Quail Hollow but didn't want to go there undercooked. Practice and rest for me this week,

That's Gary Woodland out of the Wells Fargo...

Quote:
Gary Woodland has withdrawn from the Wells Fargo Championship to give his injured left wrist another week to heal.

Woodland injured his wrist during the third round of the Masters, continued to play and withdrew after the round.

He says there is no structural damage and doctors have cleared him to play. But the former Kansas star has decided to rest the wrist. He plans to play next week at The Players Championship.

Woodland was replaced in the field by Russell Knox of Scotland.

...now to change all my teams

Bubba out of the Players.

"I've decided to pull out of the Players," Watson wrote. "I need to spend more time with Caleb and Angie, plan to take at least a month off. The Players is one of the best weeks of the year but bonding with my son and wife is what it is all about right now.

Charl Schwartzel, the 2011 winner at the Augusta National Golf Club and the 12th-ranked player in the world, informed the PGA Tour last week that he will remain at his home in South Africa to continue a family vacation. He has until 5 p.m. today to commit but Martin Hardy of International Sports Management, Schwartzel’s agency, said that to the best of his knowledge, Schwartzel has not changed his mind.

If losing the last two winners at Augusta National wasn’t all, the Tour also was informed Thursday that five-time winner Dustin Johnson, ranked 17th in the world, would be unable to play next week because of continued back problems that had forced him to withdraw from the Masters.

“Obviously, I am very disappointed to miss The Players Championship, as it’s our championship and a special week,” Johnson said in a statement.

Other injured players possibly in doubt for next week include 16th-ranked Jason Day (shoulder) and No. 68 Gary Woodland (wrist). Both players withdrew from the Masters after the tournament began. Day only returned to action this week.

Schwartzel out of the Players too

Day and Woodland seem doubtful, with Dustin Johnson still a no-go too.
