I'm hoping the same of Mahan (ie survive back nine, catch up on front 9). Good example (one of my picks :( ) of going downhill the other way is Glover - -4 on front nine, dropped three shots on tenth and 11th already.

Lay him off now to cover yourself - he is 1.6 i.e. 8/5on on Betfair, so cost you almost nothing for peace of mind. Playing something like a phenomenon.

What is this laying off I keep reading about? It is with Ladbrokes online account, do they allow such things?

You need to open a Betfair acct Jonathan, then you offer other punters the odds of 8/5, which they then accept.

Then if he wins you collect your Ladbrokes money, but pay the Betfair punters.

If he loses you lose on Ladbrokes, but collect all the stakes from the Betfair punters.

ie. a win / win scenario :D

I'd just sit tight though, he's going to do a Tiger this week

When Sky shared The Masters coverage with the BBC during the weekend they kept banging on about how few adverts they were showing. They are certainly making up for it for The US Open. All the ads are driving me mad and concentrating more than ever on just the leaders.

Poor coverage IMHO.

Which is annoying when you have dosh on Stricker EW and Stricker as top American

But i guess its just US coverage rather then Sky's?

Worse still is its the same ads! Rolex, Callaway irons, Nat West ................... not buying anything from them anymore!

Bring on The Open, just hope they HD it this year .................

Not a time to moan about other players - its historical golf. Good luck with your bet but try to enjoy it. If betting is going to stop the enjoyment then that is a shame

I'm loving it

But there is time to show all the shots of the top groups.

U.S. TV means they show Yang and Rory and then ads

Then maybe a putt or miracle chip then back to Yang and Rory walking

Then ads

Then their shots

Etc

This coverage is as bad as I have known it. During normal US coverage the Sky commentators are always quick to state the reason for the regular break in coverage is due to the US host broadcaster - they aren't doing that this time. Sky are happy enough to keep showing the ads.

The only time they show other golfers is when something good or bad happens.

Could've sworn I saw a Republic of Ireland flag thrown onto Rory as he was walking back to the gallery which was promptly removed.

Interesting you say that, Kdub. I found it one of the most enjoyable US Opens in a long, long time - and much of that was down to what I consider a great course.
