The trick to winning this game is being first to identify this season's "must haves"

Supersubs and 25 transfers allows you plenty of flexibility throughout the season. I've only entered 2 teams, but one of them is Overall 26th, so the game has once again "grabbed my attention"

Now let's make a solid list of the 2010/2011 MUST HAVES

1) Drogba
2) Bale
3) Larsson
4) Dunne
5) Ashley Cole
6) Lennon
7) Evra/Vidic
8) Sagna/Vermaelen
9) Milner
10) Walcott/Diaby/any other Arsenal player in starting 11

This list will be updated... Start with these 10 players and you'll finish in the top 100. Add five decent picks to this blueprint and you'll possibly win the entire game.

I'd add:

Schwarzer (if he goes to Arsenal)
Lampard/Malouda
Young/Albrighton/Downing/Ireland - whichever one emerges as main source of points

If I sold Rooney and did five transfers today, I could pretty much have a "must have" team and dump rubbish like Shawcross and N'Zogbia to boot. Thoughts? Too soon? It would also give me Vidic and Evra - is that too big an investment in United defence?

---

Generally - Well done on another excellent start Kdub!

I think on the list Drogba and Bale are no brainers and the rest almost at the "must have" status.

Are you sure about Milner at Man City? And Larrson despite the great start plays for a very defensive team.

One interesting question for me is why Dunne over Warnock or another Villa def (when they're fit)? As I'm currently debating which one to get and was shying away from Dunne's 4.1 price tag.

Agree with Drogba and Bale, and if you're going to allow an either/or as a 'must' then possibly also Evra/Vidic. No way are the other 7 MUST-haves yet though

Well done on your start though :)

FS Record: not bad
Surely players are only 'must haves' if there are no alternatives at that price. I'll go with Drogba and possibly Bale. Not sure about the rest at all though :?

Is Lennon any better than Arteta, Cahill, Young, or Johnson? Is Dunne better than Dawson, Toure, or Jagielka? Is Larsson any better than, well, loads of players?

If you're not having Lampard then Malouda's looking like a must have. Possibly :?

yes the list needs to be updated... my early stab at it wasn't spot on.

Hi guys,

Any ideas/updates on this list before the Prem kicks back off this weekend.

Is Malouda now in there?

With RVP out, does Fabs make an appearance?

Lots of City defenders?

I'm not convinced about that tool Malouda...

He usually goes hot and cold.

If you can afford it,

Sex Fabregas is about to become the 3rd player on this list.

I think this is possibly the new list - man, I wish I'd brought in some of these earlier.

GK - Hart
FB - Bale
FB - Konchesky (massive bargain despite Liverpool's poor start)
CB - Vidic
CB - ? (another Man City maybe?)
MD - Malouda (plays up front for the best team in the country and massively on form)
MD - Fabregas (when fit)
MD - Walcott (when fit)
ST - Drogba
ST - ? (Berbatov? Caroll? Bent?)

I'd certainly add Nani to this list after the weekend. And maybe Darren Bent or Carlos Tevez.
