Due to their European Games

Arsenal (home to Bolton)
Aston Villa (away at West Ham)
Everton (away at Man City)
have all cancelled their midweek games on 18th and 19th August

Fulham (home to Blackburn)

MAY cancel as well but they have to win though a qualifying round before they
need to change the game

The above is a World Cup qualifying date.

The eight best second-placed teams from the European preliminary competition will play off to determine the final four teams to join the group winners in South Africa. The matches have been scheduled for Sat 14 & Wed 18 November 2009. The draw to determine the home and away match assignments will be made in Zurich on Mon 19 October.

Other zones also play off on the same dates:

- the fourth-placed team in North, Central America and Caribbean will meet the fifth-placed team in South America

- the fifth-placed team in Asia will meet New Zealand, the Oceania winners.

Do we know when Sky will be announcing their first set of live games? And ESPN for that matter?

Or are they waiting until us fans book cheap travel and accomodation before they wantonly ruin our plans, costing us a mint?

Last year they were announced later because Sky were trying to
work out how to pick the big games so Setanta did not get any

Now ESPN are involved they will have no idea about their selection poilicy so it may be even later this season !!!

Yes, Sky and Setanta published first lists of live EPL matches on Fri 11 July last year.
Rumours, some substantiated, were in circulation from 4 July.

Incidentally, BBC and Sky announced a few TV games for the Championship season today.
First of these is on Friday night, 7 Aug. See:

A little birdie tells me that the PL games are all sown up, they're just waiting for some of the SPL games to be fixed up with ESPN. Hopefully we'll get an announcement late this week or early next.

I notice there are only 3 EPL games scheduled for the weekend 22-24 August. with none on Saturday 22nd itself.

Is there likely to be a game scheduled for the Saturday?

Would guess EPL fixture is unlikely to be rearranged for TV purposes this late.

Fwiw, there's a Championship game live on Sky Sports that day:

Sat 22 Aug 17:20 West Bromwich v Ipswich

Don't know where you're looking but that's not right, there's 6 on Sat, 3 on Sun and 1 on Mon.

All of the ESPN Saturday games have now been
changed to be 17:30 kick offs.

The one Sky game is still at 17:15

Everton v Wigan has been moved to Sunday Aug 30th
as Everton play a second leg on Thursday before

(Villa and Fulham has been moved for TV so there
will be no more changes that weekend)

The UEFA Europa League will then have 6 further dates on

I thought it was interesting they have Wolves vs Villa live at 12.45 on Oct 24th, as that could be subject to Europa changes (although it could be the week Villa dont have a Europa group stage fixture)

No blank weeks this year

They would be in a Group of 4 teams playing 6 Matches (3 Home and 3 Away)

Fulham through to group stages of Europa Cup. Presumably this means their upcoming Saturday games against Wolves, Arsenal (TV game), Manchester City and Wigan will all be moved to the Sunday, along with probably Sunderland. And the midweek fixture against Stoke in December will have to be re-scheduled?
