Image 100m
Event 1: GW14

Points: Gameweek Score converted to a time
Time (sec) = 12.25 - (0.012 x FactoredPoints)

Factored Points are points scored (GW score) multiplied by 50/Average GW Score

The athletes are lining up ready for the opening event of the 2nd FISOlympiad. dalythgoe and Hairybear are the hot favourites with the bookies having looked brilliant in training so far this season, but training counts for nothing now with the points being won from here on in.

It's looking like were going to have very good weather for the 100 metre sprint. The organisers are looking nervous though. What's that I hear? RomynPG database enterprises plc have not yet got the timing equipment in place! Let's hope that someone's got a stopwatch!

The athletes come in all shapes and sizes. In lane seven we have a naked pirate. Hopefully that won't distract the sheep and the chinchilla lining up next to him. We have a stormtrooper in lane 27. Surly he can't run very fast in that outfit. But with the size of his gun would anyone dare run past him!

Not long to go now and still some empty lanes. Someone get Beerfueledman and our Irish contingent brogie, stay classy, sligorover and shawpower out of the bar. Cherylhoney's about to fire the starting pistol. Here we go with the 2nd FISOlympiad

And they're off.

It's an absolutely blistering start from djnuttie - he has streaked away from most of the field. Only sligorover and Zuluwarrior seem to be able to keep in touch with the leader.

Disastorous start for FIngerpass. He seemed to think it was a false start and has been left behind. He's gone over to remonstrate with Cherlhoney. If you'll excuse me I need stop talking and start running myself in a bid to catch up with the leaders.

djnuttie thought he'd entered the marathon event and that has allowed Zuluwarrior to take the lead. sligorover is still sitting in behind. Maybe's he's got enough left ni the tank to streak through and win this event. Fingerpass has stopped argueing and started running finally and he's moving up through the field. He's got level with the sheep and the finger but he'll be hard pressed to catch up with leaders, as will YerOldDa, who made a terrible start to the race, mumbling something about not knowing when the race started. Bagpuss yawns and falls fast alseep on the 70 metre mark and all the others run past him.

Away from the race there is other breaking news that affects the Decathlon. The results from the pre-event drug test are coming in and it's bad news for Kudos92 as his test comes back positive. He will not therefore be taking any part in the Decathlon. After entering Elite XI (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=208545) in the Elite League IDidn'tShootBruceLee (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/eventhist.mc?id=1072577 turned up for Decathlon registration which was soon discovered as they share a mini league (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/table.mc?id=154558).

Blimey, you give people two weeks to sign up and still people don't make the start line in time.

I'll have to consult with our sponsor to see if you can be shoehorned in.

Sorry WHATEVER - haven't been on the board a whole lot recently. No worries if it's a hassle - i'll be safe in the knowledge that the new champion won't feel the same satisfaction as they would've done had i been in the competition... :D

sligorover wins the 100 metre sprint. Having kept in touch with the leaders throughout the race he cleverly reacted in the final stages to fly through into the lead and then the Villan defended it strongly. He even had time to stop and dance a double Samba before claiming a win just ahead of djnuttie. A photo finish for second place could not separtate djnuttie and atx1303, who came speeding through late on. Late entrants Yer Old Da and cooke_je certainly made up for lost time and ended up in the middle of the pack. Bagpuss wakes and and strolls over the line. Yet he still manages to be ahead of flyingkillercob. Last of all is SgB. Unfortunatly one of his fans ran on and got him in a full Nelsen until he had signed an autograph. He is also disapointed by the decision to have a double burger at McRonaldo's just before the race.

Now we go straight over to the long jump pit.

I'm doing the data collection in the background here and didn't see you on the sign-up thread - although you did pop-in on Tort's earlier don't get excited thread.

If WHATEVER is cool with it (?) I'll add you in and redo the first set of results. Are there any others I've missed (or any other changes athletes want before I do that - Tort wishes to represent Wales for example.)

EDIT: Final dbl-check against the League (although I didn't initially use that - just the sign-up thread) see the following athletes join but not declare themselves, I think?

Y'All Be Bad - krispdafunk
Clearly No Way - CanaryYellow
Grassy Knoll Snipers - Kenners

I'll add these in and redo. Sorry for the tangent WHATEVER

Results Tables behind the Video Wall now corrected to include CanaryYellow, krispdafunk and Kenners. I think it's correct now. (I've assumed WHATEVER has no problem with this - everything seemed in order so I didn't bother asking in the end)

(To do it so WHATEVER didn't have to make any changes to his posts I've called the gifs by the same name so if you don't see to the new ones, (now 46 athletes), it means the old ones are still cached and you can correct this by clearing your cache and reloading the images)

/tangent

Great work on the presentation and write-up, you guys :D

Someone told me it was a marathon, not a sprint, that's why I set off so slowly, honest

Good to see last year's template being used again. It really is a touch of class. No surprise seeing as who the creator is.
