I've taken 60 points-worth myself and am just outside the top 10,000. To be fair, I'm not usually that excitable -over half of them have come in the last five weeks after I decided that I'd wrapped up the mini league. But I do note that I rose 5,000 places in that time.
Currently losing interest a bit, so I'll probably just do a tedious Martin to Demel. If I feel more brazen I might do Mertesacker to WHU defender plus Kone to Sturridge, but honestly I don't trust Liverpool enough not to fall asleep in their dead rubber, so I don't feel strongly enough about the move to take the hit. -

Re: FRANKly my dear, I don't give a DAN - iel. GW37 scores
13 May 2013, 10:28
Very odd week for me. I'm on 52 with Hart, Mertesacker and Silva to play, which is a pretty decent score, better considering I captained Bale
and my rival, who I've moved ahead of, captained Lampard! Just think how much better my week would've been if I'd captained Sturridge as I had originally planned, and hadn't benched Michu for the first time this season
So, a bit mixed really..!

Quite surprised of the odds for Norwich. Looks like I should go with Bunn over Mignolet
Similarly, this suggests I should play Mertesacker, Vertonghen and Martin ahead of Cuellar, but I'm a little tempted to go for Cuellar over Martin - anyone disagree? -

I did Michu
Coutinho last night but not knowing the chances of Whittaker starting for Norwich I might bring in Sagna, Mertesacker or Jose Enrique for a 4 point hit or play with two defenders as it seems Angel Rangel is out for Sunday's game.Quote:Angel Rangel ruled out with calf injury. Michu could be fit for Sunday.

I agree, I don't think Williams would get into the Arsenal 1st team or Liverpool's first team.
I really can't see FSG allowing BR to sign him for 10million anyway, especially when you consider how FSG must regard the last player we signed from Swansea for big money (Joe Allen).
Due to the impact Coutinho is having, FSG will go down the cheap South American defender route rather than overpriced British player route this summer.
Douglas - Brazilian defender from FC Twente is available on a free and I expect him and Alez Pearce to both sign for us on a free transfer this summer. -

I always ask myself two questions. Firstly, who has the best fixture or has something to play for? The answer would be Arsenal.
Secondly, who has the stronger team/ who can you count on or trust the most? Again its Arsenal for me.

Re: Mystery FISO X1 12/13 (and drunken gibbering thread)
23 Apr 2013, 18:35
This was one of those sorts of FF week that kind of define a season I think. This season is the season of the obvious pick, and sure enough the obvious picks did well again. We just haven't had that many suprising events, or top scoring player injuries. Yeah ok - Suarez will be having another little rest soon, but generally the usual suspects have done well once they've made themselves known to us - and when they haven't done well usually all of them haven't done well which makes trying to pick out odd players doing well very difficult.
Picking out nice runs of fixtures has been tough too. Here's today's TFF trivia moment - if we say that ideally you want a transfer to be worth 10 points and to swap in a player than out again that will cost you 2 transfers. So you want those theoretical 2-for-0s to be worth 20 points. The question is how many TFF players this season have had a run of two game weeks across which they scored over twenty points in total. 34 of them with it happening 66 times in total. That's 66 times across a whole season, not taking account of whether any of those were across a nice run of fixtures. They really have been absolute pigs to spot this season, and you've done well to have found them. Oh and Suarez, RVP and Bale account for 17 of those 66 and let's be honest there wasn't much chance of you dropping them in only for a sneaky couple of games and then take them out again. Kone did it once - week27-28 - 24 points - what was I thinking bringing him into teams…….
I guess the one area where this week was different was in defenders scoring, although even having said that it's perhaps only the identity of those defenders that's been unusual. Yes, Baines has had 15 and 17 point weeks this season and Ivanovic has been into double figures a few times. But Mertesacker 17? Koscielny 15? Really???
This team saw the RVP 27 plus Mata and Hazard into double figures. Transfers burned on Howard and Ba out for Tevez and Hart for not much gain so far. All in all a fairly good week without being stunning.
Week 36 - 41+41=82 points (80,728)
Total - 1557 (26,432, 14th in Open league)
Golden boot - 104 (26,637)
Starting X1 - 1168 (107,283)
Transfers left - 5
The top score achievable from 11 players this week was 160 compared to the weekly winner this week getting 150. I suspect they probably didn't use a 5-3-2 formation though!
Szczesny 12
Mertesacker 17, Terry 16, Koscielny 15, Sagna 12, Luiz 12

How to get on board the Bale train
21 Apr 2013, 22:15
Squad:
Begovic/Federici
Mariappa/Martin/Evra/Mertesacker/Baines
Fellaini/Michu/Yaya/Hazard/Walcott
Rodriguez/RVP/Berbatov
I have £0.6m in the bank and only one free transfer, but I'm starting to loosen up on my transfers a little as I have a good lead in my mini-league and am nowhere near last year's overall performance.
I'm thinking one of the following two options:
1) Walcott to Bale, Berbatov to Tevez, Evra to Cuellar
2) Walcott to Bale, RVP to Tevez, Mariappa to Kompany
Some logic:
Bale and Tevez are the form players, while Cuellar seems likely to continue benefiting from the PdC effect and Kompany has great fixtures. For the players out, Berbatov and Mariappa aren't producing much, Evra will probably suffer from rotation and the lack of the need to focus. I'm not mad keen on getting rid of RVP, and Walcott is in okay form but not amazing and hasn't got great fixtures.
Baines is another potential for transferring out if I were to wait, of course. The Mariappa to Kompany transfer isn't really necessary now but would need it after GW35.
Suggestions and critique very much welcomed!
EDIT: Just realised it would be probably better to do Federici to Hart instead of Mariappa to Kompany for the second option -
