Fantasy Premier League Review of August 2015

What have we learnt from the first 3 matches of the 2015/16 Premier League season?

Well, defensively you needed defenders from Manchester City, Manchester United or Liverpool who’ve had 3 shut-outs in their 3 games. With Kompany and Kolorav weighing in with 3 goals between them a Man City block defense would have provided you with a fabulous start to the season, although if you gambled with Watford and their much cheaper defenders this may have been another good bet given their 2 clean sheets. Moving on to the midfield, the stand-out performer has, a little surprisingly, been Marhez of Leicester City with 4 goals. Others that have started the season extremely well are Yaya Toure (MC), Ross Barkely (EVE), Nathan Redmond (NOR) & Marc Albrighton (LEI) who’ve all been amongst the goals as have Kouyate (WH), Ayew (SWA), Chadli (TOT), Morrison (WBA) and Payet (WH).

Your forward line is often however where your fantasy football season is won or lost. The strikers with more than 1 goal so far this season are: Lukaku (EVE), Gomis (SWA), Wilson (BOU), Diouf (STO) and Defoe (SUN). Many managers will also be looking closely at Chelsea’s Costa and Man City’s Aguero given that they now have a goal each and are still the favourites for the season’s golden boot competition.
